Rachel Bilson Says No to Nudity
Posted on 09 Jun 2008 by brooke
Rachel Bilson almost didn't appear in The Last Kiss because she won't do nudity, the actress reveals in Playboy.

"Movies can be sexy or sexual without showing things," the former O.C. star, 26, said in the issue out Friday. "It's almost a deal breaker. The movie was rated R, and they like to put in nudity wherever they can, but I'm pretty strong willed and believe it can be avoided."

The other thing Bilson won't do is talk about her relationship with Hayden Christensen, even though the two have been spotted together around Los Angeles for almost a year. She will, however, defend his acting chops. "He's an amazing guy and a fantastic actor," she told Playboy. "In those Star Wars movies I thought other people – people who are successful and Oscar-nominated – came off looking much worse than he did. But he caught a lot of s---, which really made me mad."

Other interesting Bilson bits:

She's scared of mushrooms: "Even the smell makes me sick."

On waiting her turn in the spotlight: "The roles I want usually go to Kirsten Dunst, Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman or Kate Bosworth – even though I look younger or older than a few of them. I understand they were once where I am now, and my ultimate goal is to get to that point. Hopefully, I'll achieve it, but you never know."

On being a celebrity: "It blows my mind that celebrity is such a sham now. ... I'm in this business because of the career I want, not because of the celebrity I want."

Bilson: 'There's No The O.C. Movie'
Posted on 09 Jun 2008 by brooke
The O.C. star Rachel Bilson has laughed off claims she's returning to The women of Sex and the City may have reunited on the big screen, but don't look for the cast of The O.C. to do the same, says Rachel Bilson.

"No," the actress, 26, tells Moviefone.com, shooting down any rumblings of an O.C. movie. "I had somebody else ask me that because of Sex and the City the movie, but I was like, 'No.' I'd watch Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Movie, though."

Concerning her former TV colleagues, Bilson, who played Summer Roberts, says, "Mischa [Barton] I actually ran into. But I don't keep in touch with anyone. I'd like to get together with Melinda Clarke and Kelly Rowan. We were all really close."

As for sending a congratulatory message to new mom Rowan, "I haven't even spoken to her!" says Bilson. "I need to send her an e-mail."

Debuting in 2003, The O.C. wrapped up last year. Not that Bilson has slowed down. She's looking forward to movie projects, including an anthology flick titled New York, I Love You, about pick-pocketing.

"I wore a blonde wig for the day. It was fun – try something different. And Hayden [Christensen] and I got to work together again. It was really nice," she says.

Rachel Bilson Launches Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans
Posted on 07 Jun 2008 by brooke
Rachel Bilson is desinging a junior sportswear line called Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans, reports WWD.

“This is something that I have been interested in doing for such a long time,” Rachel said. “I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity for it to be done right. Fans of The O.C. really like DKNY Jeans, and I know they make great stuff, so I thought it could be good.”

The fashion line is mostly black and white pieces, a little yellow here and there.

“I have a yellow scarf that I love and I was really inspired by it,” Rachel said. “I was so happy they were able to get that same yellow into the clothes.”

Bilson, 26, knew she didn’t want her own name on the label, which is why she chose Edie (after her grandmother) and Rose (a close family friend, which also happens to be the name of Hayden Christensen’s grandmother).

“I want people to see these clothes for what they are, not just another line designed by another celebrity,” she said. “I want the line to be taken seriously.”

Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans will soon be sold for $19.50 and $49.50 per piece at department stores including Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom.

“I am just amazed at how the team at DKNY Jeans were able to listen to my ideas and come out with exactly what I was talking about. They literally brought my ideas to life,” Rachel added. “I also want to show people that you don’t have to pay a million dollars for clothes that look good. For me, I love vintage clothes and I shop vintage all the time. It’s fun to play and put things together. You don’t have to spend a lot to get a great look.”
